Customer Charter

The objective of Kilkenny County Enterprise Board (CEB) is to discharge the duties and functions entrusted to it by the Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment and in accordance with the Operating Agreement signed between the CEB and the Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment in an efficient and professional manner at the lowest possible cost to the public.

The CEB is governed by the “Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies” which ensures that customers and the public in general are afforded an excellent service, decisions are made fairly without bias, staff observe the highest standard of business ethics and ensure no actions of the staff, shall ever weaken the publics faith in the integrity of the Board.  This Code applies to Directors of the Board, Evaluation Committee members and employees of the Board.

When you are dealing with the Board, staff will seek to ensure that you are fully informed of all services and facilitated in gaining proper access to these services.

If you contact us by telephone, we will: 
  answer your call promptly during office hours;
  be courteous and identify ourselves and our area of work;
  give you as much assistance as reasonably possible and provide you with accurate and clear information;
  take your details and return your call if we cannot deal with your enquiry immediately and tell you when you can
  expect to hear from us again;

Service by correspondence
If you make enquiries by letter, fax or e-mail, we will:
  respond by telephone or in writing to you no later than 5 working days from receipt of the enquiry or within 20
  working days in the case of an enquiry which is particularly complex;
  contact you and tell you when you can expect a full reply if we cannot meet these timeframes;
  use clear language as deemed appropriate to the recipient and explain any 'unfamiliar' technical terms on request;
  ensure that all our correspondence contains a contact name, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address;
  if your correspondence relates to a matter that comes within the remit of another agency, we will direct the
  correspondence to that body and inform you accordingly.

Visiting our offices
If you visit our offices, we will:
  meet you punctually, if you have an appointment;
  do our utmost to accommodate you if you don't have an appointment;
  treat you with courtesy, be as helpful as possible and respect your privacy;
  aim to make appropriate facilities available to you during office hours;
  ensure that our offices comply with occupational health and safety requirements;
  aim to facilitate access for people with disabilities.

  deliver our services in an impartial manner with respect to our customers. 

Information
We will:
  make published CEB reports available on our website;
  continue to make information held by the CEB available routinely or in accordance with relevant statutory  
  provisions;
  strive to make more information available electronically.

Service in Irish

We will meet our commitments under the Official Languages Act 2003. 

Redress
Any legitimate complaint regarding:
  the improper administration of the functions entrusted to this Board; or
  the manner in which an enquiry was processed;
will be dealt with speedily and sympathetically and in accordance with the Board's Client Care and Procedures. These procedures are without prejudice to an individual's normal rights in law or to any independent review systems that might be put in place.
